Yay!!!! I remember when I played for Mr.Crusie on the Downeast All-Stars...I think it was 11-12 though...anyways it was quite the experience with Mr. Crusie as our coach but I will never forget the experience. Ryan was on my team I believe. Good times to be remembered! Go Edie!!
Edie is a gal after my own heart. I spent several summers of my life on some ballfield somewhere in Eastern North Carolina in All-Star Tournaments. They are some of the greatest memories of my childhood. I am so proud of my little athlete, Edie! It kinda makes my chest puff up a little with pride. I wish Henderson wasn't so far away.
Thanks for the pictures, Aunt Leah! I am one home-sick mama for my little girl today! I'm glad that you were able to get some footage for me!
The girls will play South Granville tomorrow at 10 am.
I'm having a fun wink at home with Jake and Grant - aka "steroid boy"! ;) Camp is fun too! We're doing some serious dancing!
Grant's appointment went well. His blood counts were a little low, indicating that his cold was probably a virus! Anyway - he had a fine spinal tap and has been eating like a cow since yesterday! All is well....
I evidently am having such a fun "week" that I didn't even notice that I typed that I was having a fun "wink"!
I'm an idiot!
If only spell-checker would check my brain for inconsistency! (or maybe it could check it for "incontinence" since I'm having such a hard time getting my vocabulary right!)
If I wasn't so tired, I would try to think of other faux pas that I could include, but my brain hurts!
Grant was diagnosed with ALL T-Cell Leukemia on April 26, 2007. He had been sick almost all winter, getting several ear infections, colds and coughs, strep throat, stomach bugs, fevers, and general feel-bad-all-overness. When he just could not get better, and earned the nickname "The Hulk" because he was starting to look so green, his Mama knew that something was not right. After another trip to the doctor, a blood test was ordered, and within a few hours he and his family were on their way to UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, one of the top pediatric oncology centers in the nation. The wonderful doctors there are already making progress, and beating this disease.
Anyone who knows Grant knows that he loves his Super Heroes - Superman, Spiderman, Wolverine, Batman, Power Rangers, and on and on. He doesn't just love them, he loves to become them, often dressing up and acting like the Hero of the Day. I think we can all agree that Grant is going to be our favorite Super Hero, and he is going to prove to everyone just how strong and invincible he is!
